Held in Coventry, in the heart of the UK, the conference was the highlight of the UK’s acupuncture and oriental medicine calendar.
The conference, sponsored by Phoenix Medical was called Gate of Life for several reasons – it was a way of acknowledging that acupuncture is a gateway to a healthier life, it also celebrated the famous acupuncture point of that name, and finally it was a comment on how the hundreds of acupuncturists coming together in one part of the world could potentially trigger a healing process throughout the world.
Delegates poured into the conference rooms to hear Internationally renowned speakers such as CT Holman, Claudia Citkovitz and Amos Ziv. The UK was very well represented by its own home grown talent, with lectures from the likes of Beverley de Valois, Rebecca Avern and Peter Deadman who led some very well attended early morning Qi gong sessions to get the positive energy flowing.
In addition to the numerous lectures, the conference was a terrific way for members of the acupuncture community to connect and to exchange ideas as well as to have some fun. There were a number of social events planned, including book signings, networking drinks receptions and also a fantastic gala dinner with a live band. The British conference delegates definitely know how to party in style, and the partying went on into the small hours.
Thanks to all of the people that made the conference such a roaring success and looking forward to welcoming our European cousins to the next conference.
