Unity is our strength – Chinese medicine unites us in so many ways. When we meet each other from all around the world we immediately get this sense of family, unity. This unity stands as our greatest asset.
The dedicated efforts of the ETCMA executive committee (EC) have been instrumental in forging a path towards a united profession, as reflected in our newsletter.
Aram, our communication leader, unites us by promoting international commemoration of World Acupuncture Day on November 16th. Adrianne, our advocate, tirelessly champions our cause in the European Parliament and engages with EUROCAM. Ben, in charge of Education, shapes “Core Competencies for Chinese Medicine Practitioners,” drawing insights from the relevant WHO document. Education is at the heart of our united profession, and it’s our vision to promote this crucial topic. Susan, leading Governance, crafts a blueprint to fortify the ETCMA’s foundation, supporting member organizations to run effectively. Ghretha, our treasurer, ensures seamless collaboration. Ricardo, the vice president, and I work hand in hand, ensuring every task is on the right trajectory with the needed support. This unity is a blessing; I recommend all association leaders strive for a united team. We’re here to assist if you need help in that journey.
Internationally, my involvement in projects like the One Voice initiative collaborating with the US and the renewal of our MOU with AACMA in Australia, along with participation in the EC of WFAS China, highlights our commitment to global professional unity.
For our member associations, I hope to meet you at the General Assembly in Porto on February 23-24, 2024. I eagerly anticipate our face-to-face reunion and the strength that emanates from our collective presence.
In times when the strength and recognition of our profession may seem not as strong as we wish for, remember that when spiders unite, they can together tie a lion.
May you have good omens and joyous holidays.
