Self regulation, Acupuncturists with suitable qualifications on national registers are allowed to practice

Acupuncture Awareness Week March each year

Full Members shall comprise TCM Practitioners recognized by the Council as having been trained to an appropriate standard in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Overseas Members shall be those who practice outside Ireland and who are either graduates of a college of Traditional Chinese Medicine or whose qualifications have been recognised and approved by the association whose decision shall be final.

Non Practicing members shall comprise members who have ceased to practice either temporarily or permanently. The names of Non Practicing members shall not be included in any material circulated to the public, nor shall their names appear in any register issued by the Council. A member who is non-practicing for two or more years and wishes to become a practicing member again must reapply for membership.

How to became a member:

Submission of application form stating hours studied, lectures observed and contact hours, sample case histories, previous background/profession. Face to face interview by 2 board members. Proposed and seconded by the board.
